Blair Parnwell the Managing Director created the company for people expecting high end interior and exterior painting and decorating services. He has been a professional painter since 1997 after serving an apprenticeship of 6000 hours working with great craftspeople, focusing on painting and decorating and specialised coatings. After completing his apprenticeship he was proud to be selected, out of the top young tradespeople in the country, to attend the Paintercraft Trust Advanced Business Course, for which he was awarded a diploma.
He has also completed NZ Master Painters courses on Pacific, Ashley and Vision wallpapers, Nuplex Coating and Floor Coating Finishes, Airless Spraying Techniques, Resene Professional Development Programme and Accredited Contractor for Management of Lead Based

Since Parnwell Painting was founded the company has grown steadily into one of the largest painting contractors locally. Over the years it has successfully undertaken thousands of jobs and is recognised by suppliers, clients and staff as the leading painting business in the top of the South Island. Blair knows all of our clients by name and inspires his team to strive for quality and service excellence every day. Blair’s favourite part of the business is being out on site providing quotes and meeting with every client to learn about their hopes and expectations. With decades in the painting and decorating industry, Blair still gets a buzz at the start of every new project.
Blair personally manages his team of highly qualified and experienced painters to ensure Parnwell Painting’s high standards are always maintained. This has raised Parnwell Painting to be the industry leader in the Nelson painting market. Blair and Ellie are always working to provide their clients with a stress free painting experience.

Over the years several of these apprentices have continued with us, long after their apprenticeships have been completed, taking on the responsibilities that come with being a highly skilled tradesman.
